History claims the 1977 NYC blackout triggered widespread looting, framing the Black community as dangerous while accidentally birthing Hip Hop through stolen gear, a narrative even pioneers like Kool Herc and Afrika Bambaataa deny. But what really happened during those 25 hours of darkness? Through newly uncovered documents, eerie archival photographs, and shocking eyewitness interviews, this investigative documentary uncovers a different truth. The blackout wasn't an accident; it was a cosmic anomaly that government forces desperately tried to cover up. Hip Hop wasn’t born from crime, it was inspired by the unattainable.
